Ali Melhem, M.D

Dr. Ali Melhem is a diplomate of the American board of psychiatry and neurology and is board certified in general psychiatry and consultation liaison psychiatry (psychosomatic medicine).He is also certified by the American board of preventive medicine in the sub specialty of addiction medicine. He is skilled in the evaluation and treatment of all psychiatric disorders as well as the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric manifestations of medical and neuropsychiatric conditions. His skills include the evaluation and treatment of patient’s substance use disorders as well as those with comorbid psychiatric and substance use disorders.
He graduated with a medical degree from the American university of Beirut and completed an internship in internal medicine at the American university hospital. He completed his psychiatry training from the Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry.

Imad M. Melhem, MD

Dr. Imad Melhem is board-certified in both General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In his current position, Dr. Melhem serves as the Chief Clinical Officer for Neurobehavioral Medicine Consultants located in Saint Clairsville, Ohio and also works as an inpatient psychiatrist and liaison for several of the surrounding-area hospitals. He earned his medical degree in 2004 from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. He traveled to the United States to complete his residency in General Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico and went on to complete a two-year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Throughout his career, Dr. Melhem has conducted and published psychopharmacological research with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, served as a member of the Diversity Committee at the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry, and participated in the work of the Continuing Medical Education Committee of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Some of Dr. Melhem’s recent projects consist of co-leading the Patient-Centered Medical Home and Integrated Medicine initiatives at Neurobehavioral Medicine Consultants. His current research interests include early-onset bipolar and autism spectrum disorders, cultural and global psychiatry, and the integration of primary care and psychiatric medicine.
